Thank you for helping your Chamber of Commerce experience an outstanding membership year! You are our best source of membership leads! During 2007-08, 41 Chamber members referred 55 businesses that became Chamber members out of a total of 132 new members.
In 2004 the Chamber's Membership Division introduced a new competition to help boost membership and recognize those of you who encourage businesses to join the Chamber. Throughout the year we keep a tally of the leads that result in membership sales and have been acknowledging the providers regularly in Bottom Line. To participate in the competition, simply provide qualified leads to Wendy Franzwa between September 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009. A qualified lead includes the company name, contact name, and phone number of a potential member we do not already have in our database. When your lead turns into a membership sale, you’re in the running! The top challengers will be announced throughout the year in
Bottom Line, prizes will be awarded to the top three lead providers, and the winner will be announced at the 2009 Chamber Star-Studded Celebration.

2007-2008 Lead Contest Results
Kipp Hoeft, K-PRO Marketing Group, Inc., LEADS the way!
Kipp Hoeft, owner of
K-PRO Marketing won this year’s competition with a record-breaking five leads that resulted in membership sales. Kipp has been in the running before and provides membership leads on a regular basis. As a thank you to Kipp he will receive a round of golf for four with a cart, courtesy of the St. Cloud Country Club.
In second place was Al Karasch,
TDS Metrocom, with four leads that led to successful membership sales. Al was a winner last year and has been promoting Chamber membership for over 20 years. He will receive an overnight stay and dinner for two courtesy of Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley .
In third place, with three successful sales leads, was Jim Beck,
Minnesota School of Business. Jim is also a perennial winner in the Each One Reach One contest, making it a point to buy from Chamber members and encourage non-members to join. He will receive a gift certificate to dinner, courtesy of Ciatti's Ristorante'.

Chamber receives national membership recognition
The American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) recently honored the St. Cloud Area Chamber with a Membership Achievement Award for exceptional membership retention. Using data from the annual Chamber Operations Survey, ACCE determined the St. Cloud Area Chamber was in the top ten in the $500,000 to $1 million dues income category for membership retention during 2007. This is the third year in a row the Chamber has received this honor.
